Kuala Lumpur

The Petronas twin towers (tallest buildings in the world)

This is the National Mosque. I was so surprised at how much uglier it was than most of the other mosques we saw, considering it is supposed to be THE mosque. But I guess it's because it was trying to be modern.

I had to wear the dress and head scarf to enter.

But from the National Mosque, we had a good view of one of the two very nice looking train stations in KL. This looks more like a proper mosque to me!

This is just a government office, but it's impressive (another building that looks like a mosque to me).

And here's another very nice looking mosque in the background, called Masjid Jamek.

The See Yeoh Temple in Chinatown, with some sort of advertisement regarding sars. Speaking of that, almost every store in Taiwan has something to say about sars- they all have a banner of some sort, all written in chinese, saying something about it. I wish I knew what they were saying!

A famous Hindu temple, called Sri Mariamman.

The Batu Caves. This is one of two touristy Monkey/Bats/Caves all-in-one temples that I went to in asia. It was interesting, but the monkeys chased me and I didn't like them.

It was so hot in KL that we were constantly frequenting the drink vendors all around town. This guy sells only freshly crushed sugarcane juice.

And when you get your drink 'to go', it comes in a plastic bag- and nothing else!
