Taman Negara

This is the THE national park of Malaysia. We did a lot of hiking, with a lot of stopping along the way to check out weird bugs and critters.

We saw this massive spider with glowing eyes when we were out walking in the jungle at night.

And one of the many big beetles.

A very poisonous Sumatran Pit Viper! It didn't even stir when I went up to it and took a picture.

And all throughout the jungle we saw super-highways of termites. They're quite determined, and travel in well organised straight lines. There are even designated termites that stand on the borders of the super-highway to make sure no one strays!

The hiking here was tough! Not because of the hills, but because it was SO humid. I guess that's what you get in the jungle. But man, check out this sweaty, jungly picture of myself:

Another tough hike, but it had a nice view at the end.

Here's a huge thing of bamboo that we came across (left), and another tree with unknown things growing from it(right).

The park also has a very long canopy walkway that allowed us to walk up near the tops of the trees and see a lot.

And of course there were many monkeys in the park that I had to take photos of.

This looks like one seriously determined monkey!
